Chucky has reached the double digits, and to celebrate, we took him out to the local dive and bought him some awesome shit. He got a brand new DS Lite, a new Super Mario, Metroid:Hunters, Transformers (Decepticon version - legend that he is, great work Chucky!), and we gave him our old Mario 64 just to be realistic. He also got a headphone set, plenty of Hungry Jack's, more junk food like hot dogs, lollies, flavored soda pop, and anything else that he wanted. He played lots of Wii, which he's pretty damn good at; he had Kym workin' pretty hard to keep up. He played tons of Wii Fit (ok Mummy?) and of course a huge whollop of Ghost Squad, where his killing instinct really started to shine. A few times when Kym had been killed, Chucky would man up and seek revenge for his Aunties demise - class act all the way. He broke a few personal records on the ski jump which pissed us off because now we have to re-break Chucky's records in between playing other campaigns.
Not to be too gay about things (lucky little...) we began a monster course of all our games. We discussed designing games and playing online competitions, an area of gaming that our nephew had not really considered. We chatted heaps about the old DS vs PSP debate (yeah, DS won the

battle - so eat it Sony). We tore apart "Wolf Team" for the PC (oooh, I can be a wolf - try Zelda, you can be a wolf and the game doesn't suck!), in fact we tore apart a few games, but for legal reasons we shouldn't repeat their names... yet.
But of course the old two person shooters are what all the kids are into these days, and it wouldn't take long for the conversation to revert back to the old, "Hey man, what's the best first person shooter to buy?" - a good question. I'm really happy he has Metroid:Hunters on the DS to test his resolve and strengthen his tactics. I'll have to go and grab another copy so we can play co-op together. We showed him our new XBox360 game "Bioshock" which Chucky thought was awesome. He particularly enjoyed farming the little girls, which is a bit grim, but hey that's gaming. We demolished Chicken Shoot for the Wii (easily the worst game ever made), we played Golf, 9 Ball, Cow racing, hell he even played Air Hockey against his Grandma (and won). By the

end of the day he'd had about as much as anyone could handle and looked forward to getting home and showing his new stuff to his brother (who no doubt got jealous and dumb about it all - "Give me a go", "NO!"). With any luck he'll get a solid five or six years of fun out of the contraption, happy birthday kid and say hi to ya parents, tell 'em it's MY birthday on Monday! [HINT]That is all...
